(The Vibes) – Dapsy said before this, the Perak Pas chief even tried to paint the Chinese community in Malaysia as unpatriotic.
DAP youth has strongly condemned the alleged racist statement made by Perak Pas chief Razman Zakaria.
It said such statements and the thinking of a leader in Pas show how Pas is unfit to govern a multicultural and multireligious country like Malaysia.
“This is in response to his statement where he said, “We ask those whose eyes are like this (while pointing to his eyes), skin like this (while pointing to his skin), and blood like ours, we must unite, this is the struggle we champion,”.
“On top of spreading lies and slander towards the government at the event at Menara Condong Teluk Intan, he chose to resort to racist statements to instigate hate among the different races of Malaysia,” said Dapsy chief, Dr Kelvin Yii.
Yii said before this, the Perak Pas chief even tried to paint the Chinese community in Malaysia as unpatriotic over the incident.
“Such a statement is not just an insult to our community in Malaysia, but a clear form of “hate speech” to further divide and instigate hate among the different races.
“There should not even be any question of our loyalty and love for our beloved nation of Malaysia. As a responsible leader, he should have rallied all Malaysians to unite, not just a particular community against one another,” he said.
Yesterday, Razman appeared to have made racially charged remarks at a rally of over 300 people waving the Malaysian flag at the Menara Condong.
The gathering was a counter-demonstration against the waving of the China flag at the same location on Thursday during the Guan Gong cultural festival.
While criticising the current administration for apparently not defending the nation’s sovereignty, Razman made a call for unity, using physical features as a reference point.
“We ask those whose eyes are like this (while pointing to his eyes), skin like this (while pointing to his skin), and blood like ours, we must unite, this is the struggle we champion,” he said.
