Sanusi told to name those sabotaging Kedah’s investments
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has been told to name the alleged mastermind plotting to sabotage investments in Kedah.
(NST) – State Umno information chief Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said he believed Sanusi’s claim was an attempt to create false perceptions to cover the Kedah government’s failure to realise previously announced investments.
“So we challenge the Menteri Besar to reveal the mastermind behind the so-called grand plan,” he said in a statement.
Yesterday, Sanusi told the Kedah State Legislative Assembly of a supposed plot to foil investments in the state.
He cited the decision by Bin Zayed International Group of Companies to withdraw from the RM40 billion Langkasuka project in Langkawi.
Sanusi, however, did not provide further details.
He made the claim during a heated exchange with Teh Swee Leong (PH-Kota Darulaman), who sought an explanation for the withdrawal of several investors from previously announced projects.
Shaiful today said Kedah Umno was concerned that Sanusi’s “political tactics” would ultimately harm Kedah and its people.
Meanwhile, in the State Assembly today, Teh also challenged Sanusi to reveal the state’s supposed saboteurs.
“I dare the Menteri Besar to reveal the identity of the parties behind the alleged grand design to sabotage investments in the state,” he said.
