Win the election first, PAS No 2 tells Muhyiddin

A PAS leader has poured cold water on the ambitions of its ally, Bersatu, which is gunning for the menteri besar’s posts should Perikatan Nasional form the government in certain states.

(FMT) – Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man says the Bersatu president’s statement was his personal view.

A PAS leader has poured cold water on the ambitions of its ally, Bersatu, which is gunning for the menteri besar’s posts should Perikatan Nasional form the government in certain states.

Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said Bersatu should focus on winning the elections first, Sinar Harian reported.

“We have to win first, only then can we discuss the ‘rewards’,” he was quoted as saying in the Pahang state assembly sitting.

The PAS deputy president said there was a need to strengthen the opposition coalition and that while personal views could be aired it did not reflect PN’s official stand.

Tuan Ibrahim was responding to Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who had over the weekend said the party was eyeing the menteri besar’s posts in Pahang, Perak and Selangor should PN wrest these states from the unity government.

PAS currently leads the opposition-controlled states of Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perlis.
